Homeschool Science

Grades K – 8

Drop Off Location: Bozeman Fish Technology Center (4050 Bridger Canyon Rd, Bozeman, MT 59715)

Pick Up Location: MOSS Office (2104 Industrial Dr UNIT B, Bozeman, MT 59715)

Time: Mondays, 1-4pm

Cost: $600 per student

Join MOSS for a deep dive into the natural science of our local landscape as winter turns to spring. Over 14 weeks we will hike and explore many different topics such as phenology (seasonal cues), snow science, earth science including the formation of the Gallatin Valley, seasonal hydrological changes and more. Students will get a chance to participate in citizen science projects, and participate in several field trips and an on-going project throughout the program.

Looking for customized outdoor science programming for your homeschool students or learning pod? We can help!

Montana Outdoor Science School can offer semi-customized outdoor science sessions for students K-8 on your schedule!

  • Topics include our Science in Residency offerings or recent Tuesday Science or PIR offerings

  • Classes can take place at the MOSS Campus or at another outdoor location of your choice

  • Cost varies based on program length, location, and number of students

  • Please provide information about your group through the form below - we may be able to help connect you to other homeschool groups to keep costs down


Cancellation and Refund Policy

MOSS’s cancellation policies may vary between programs. Please read through each program’s description and information before registering.

  • Cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the program start date will be refunded, minus an Active registration fee.

  • Cancellations made 29 days or fewer before the program start date will not be refunded.

  • Refunds will not be issued for no-shows once a program has started.

  • Cancellations can be made through your Active account. If you have any questions, email us at miversen@outdoorscience.org.

  • If MOSS cancels a program due to not meeting minimum enrollment, refunds will be made.

  • If MOSS cancels a program due to circumstances beyond our control, refunds or partial refunds will be given on a program-by-program basis (minus the Active online registration charge).
