Heather Margolis is a nationally recognized public policy advocate for community service, volunteerism, and the national AmeriCorps program. Appointed by the Governor of Montana, Heather serves on the Montana Commission on Community Service. She currently serves as President of Montana After School Alliance Steering Council and is member of the Coalition Leadership Council of States for Service an initiative of the American Service Commission. She is the Founder of Montana Education Partnership, a non-profit organization focused on support for school and community partnerships encouraging youth engagement in community and education. Heather earned her degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Boulder and served as an AmeriCorps member at Bartram High School in Philadelphia focusing on environmental service learning. Subsequently, Heather pursued a career in education and earned her M.ED. from New York University. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, Heather enjoys outdoor sports, recreation among the wild lands, mountains, and rivers of Montana and around the world. Heather is originally from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. Having lived in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., Heather and her husband Tim, who is originally from Bozeman, moved to Montana in 2009. It has been a wonderful decision to raise their boys and two dogs in Big Sky Country.
