Jenny Scherer

Board Vice Chair

Jenny grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and moved to Bozeman in 2005. As a kid, backpacking trips to the Beartooth Mountains, Wind Rivers, and the Spanish Peaks instilled in her a love of mountains and wild places. Jenny and her husband Troy met in graduate school at the University of Minnesota. They moved West after school and currently own and operate Design 5 Landscape Architecture. Design 5 has a wide variety of projects in Bozeman and the surrounding area, including public parks, commercial projects, and both large and small-scale residential projects.

Before Design 5, Jenny worked for NOLS and other outdoor tripping programs leading trips primarily in Alaska and the Rocky Mountain region. Jenny has two boys, Owen and Finn, who love to camp and go on family adventures. The mountains of Montana and the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota are favorite family adventure spots. Nothing brings Jenny more joy than seeing the outdoors’ impact on kids and especially on her boys. Jenny hopes that all kids have access to the outdoors and environmental education.
